What is Brave Story? An animated film adaptation of the novel by Miyuki Miyabe, and is produced by GONZO studios.
"With a determined plan to reunite his mother and father, a young boy named Wataru knowingly enters a fantasy realm inhabited by a goddess who has the power to change destiny. With the help of his comrades, Wataru faces a series of seemingly insurmountable obstacles on this once-in-a-lifetime adventure. One way or another, the young hero must reach the Tower of Destiny and change his fate."
There are also video games and manga in the same name, but follows different protagonist's adventures in each.
